Add the train accommodation
1. Open your itinerary in the Itinerary Builder and navigate to the Accommodation step.
2. Click the blue Accommodation button.
3. In the Select a Hotel field, type the name of the train provider.
4. Select the train from the dropdown list.
Select a pre-loaded route
1. After selecting the train provider, a Mobile Component Browser will appear.
2. If the provider has pre-loaded routes, select the route you need.
3. The route will be added to the itinerary automatically.
Note: The number of nights and stops will update automatically based on the selected route.
Routes with hotel or lodge overnight stops
When the train journey includes overnight stops at hotels or lodges, build the train portion in separate segments - one for each stretch before and after the land overnight.
Add stops manually
If the train provider does not have pre-loaded routes, you can add each stop manually.
1. In the Select a Stop field, type the name of the first stop.
2. Select it from the list.
3. Repeat for each stop along the route.
4. For each stop, complete the following details:
| Destination Select the destination from the list to pull through destination images and descriptions into the itinerary. Arrive (Day) The day the train arrives at this stop (e.g. Day 1, Day 2). Depart (Day) The day the train departs from this stop. |
Note: The Arrive Day and Depart Day cannot exceed the total number of nights set for the train trip. Add all intermediate stops in this section — departure and arrival points can be set in the Route Builder.
Set up train routing
1. Navigate to the Route Builder step.
2. For routes without pre-loaded data, create a custom route based on the train's itinerary.
3. Where available, Google Train Routing can also be used.
Outputs
Once the train accommodation is set up, the details will be generated to the Classic, Discovery, and Virtual itinerary outputs.
