# How do I add car hire to my itinerary?

## Add car rental details to a self-drive leg in the Route Builder, including rental company information, dates, and booking details.

### **Getting started**

1\. Open the itinerary and navigate to the **Route Builder** step.

2\. Ensure at least one leg of the journey has **Self-Drive** selected as the mode of transport.

**Note:** The **+ Add Car Hire** button is only visible when Self-Drive is selected as the mode of transport on at least one leg.

### **Add car hire details**

1\. Click the orange **+ Add Car Hire** button.

2\. The **Car hire - Booking details** screen will open.

3\. Complete all relevant car rental details.

4\. Click **Update Car Hire** to save the information to the itinerary.

**Note:** Car hire dates do not automatically match the itinerary dates. You must select the dates manually - this is intentional, as you may switch between different rental companies at different destinations during the trip.

**Note:** To add multiple car rental providers, repeat the above steps for each one.

**Tip:** Load your regular car rental providers into **Contacts** and **Services** in Account Settings. You can then use the **Load Contacts** button in the Car hire booking details screen to import their information quickly.
