A trip can be created with only a client name. Enter the **Client name**. This is the only required field. 3\. Optionally complete any additional fields. 4\. Select **Create trip**. Your trip is created and opened in the Trip Panel. ![3](https://knowledge.wetu.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Content/Trip%20Pipelines/Create%20a%20trip/3.jpg?width=670&height=452&name=3.jpg) [back to top](https://knowledge.wetu.com/how-do-i-create-a-trip-in-trip-pipeline#back_to_top) ### **Required field**  **Client name** is the only required field when creating a trip.   | In this field, you can: | - Create a trip for an exsiting contact - Create a trip for a new client | | --- | --- | ![4](https://knowledge.wetu.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Content/Trip%20Pipelines/Create%20a%20trip/4.jpg?width=670&height=457&name=4.jpg) ### **Optional fields** The following fields can be completed when you create the trip, or updated later from the Trip Panel.  | Field | What it does | Good to know | | --- | --- | --- | | **Status** | Sets the initial workflow status for the trip | If no status is selected, the trip is created in **None**. | | **Itinerary** | Starts the trip with no itinerary or a sample itinerary | See Itinerary options below. | | **Consultant** | Assigns the trip to a consultant | If left unchanged, the logged-in user is selected by default. | | **Branding** | Sets the branding used for the trip | Select the branding that applies to this trip. | | **Travel dates** | Adds a start date and end date | Optional. You can add one at any time from the Trip Panel. | Capturing a new enquiry, recording an opportunity before planning begins, or following up with a prospective client | | **Sample itinerary** | The sample itinerary appears in the Trip Panel. It can later be copied into a personal itinerary. | You want to choose from multiple sample itineraries to start the trip | #### **Add a sample itinerary** 1. Search for a sample itinerary. 2. Select the itinerary you want to use. 3. Complete the remaining trip details. 4. Select **Create trip**. The selected sample itinerary appears in the Trip Panel, where it can later be copied into a personal itinerary. **Note:** You can't link a personal itinerary when creating a trip. To give the trip a personal itinerary, copy a sample itinerary as personal or create a personal itinerary from scratch in the Trip Panel.  **Good to know:** Every existing personal itinerary in Wetu already has its own trip in Trip Pipeline, and any new personal itinerary you create automatically becomes a trip.
