Profiles, Content & Supplier Tools 

Terms relating to how supplier and property information is created, rated, and showcased in Wetu.

Profile

A profile belongs to an Account and is a digital footprint in the Wetu system. A profile enables an Account to connect and collaborate within Wetu and be able to network outside of Wetu. A profile can be a property, activity, restaurant; and contains content blocks. It is not reserved for one type. 

Public Profile

 

A profile visible to every Wetu user via the via the platform. Public profiles are split into two tiers: Core and Professional.

Private Profile

 

A profile created for a single account's exclusive use; not visible to, or usable by, other Wetu operators. “Private Profile” must be explicitly selected at the end of profile creation, or the profile will publish as Public by default. 

Core Profile

 

The free, entry-level Profile tier (formerly called a “Basic listing”). Offers limited content fields, a minimum of 6 photos, and can reach up to an 80% Content Rating

Content Rating

 

A percentage score reflecting how complete a profile is, based on General Information, Media, and profilespecific content. The maximum achievable score depends on profile tier (Core: up to 80%; Professional: up to 100%).

Professional Profile

 

Public: The paid, full-featured Public Profile tier (formerly called an “Enhanced listing”). Unlocks iBrochure, WetuShare, video content, up to 60 images per section, and up to a 100% Content Rating. Requires the applicant to be the property owner or management company.

Private: The free, full-featured Private Profile tier unlocks video content, up to 60 images per section, and up to a 100% Content Rating. The private Professional does not have access to the iBrochure or other distri. bution features

WetuShare

 

A Professional-Profile-only tool for emailing a curated package of profile content, descriptions, images, video, documents, and a personal message, directly to a client or partner. 

iBrochure

 

A shareable, branded digital brochure generated from a Professional Profile's content, used for marketing and trade presentations. 

Profile Library

 

The screen used to view and manage all profiles associated with an account. 

Catalogue Manager

 

A tool for building curated, chaptered collections of iBrochures, sample itineraries, and published Day/MultiDay Tours, all shared with clients or trade partners via a single link.

Rack

 

A Catalogue Manager feature that groups several catalogues together under one shareable link, with its own cover image. 

Product Manager

 

The central hub listing every supplier used across a company's itineraries, including commission tracking, preferred-supplier flagging, documentation, and internal notes. 

Tags & Classifications

 

Custom ratings, tags, flags, and experience labels used within Product Manager to organise and filter suppliers so teams can quickly match products to client needs. 

Content Types

 

Wetu's eight system-defined categories for loadable profiles: Stays, Destinations, Attractions & Landmarks, Things to Do, Food & Beverage, Venues, Infrastructure, and Information/Services. 

Governance Information

 

Supplier-entered compliance data covering Health & Safety and General Information (insurance, licences, GDPR). Visible only to trade users (operators, agents, DMCs), never to travellers or the public. 

Sustainability Profile

 

Currently only available for Stay profiles

A structured form (People Practices, Energy & Climate, Waste & Plastic, Water, Procurement, Community, Culture & Heritage, Biodiversity, Credible Communication, Accountability) submitted for Wetu approval to showcase, and once certified, verify a supplier's responsible-tourism practices.

Sales Guide

 

An AI-generated or self-generated, trade-only summary of a profile , covering location, key selling points, and ideal traveller profile, visible only to operators, agents, and DMCs.

Specials Manager

 

A tool for creating promotional offers such as seasonal rates, stay/pay deals, and packages, visible to the trade.

Note: Specials Portal: Not a separate feature. This is the trade-facing side of Specials Manager; the view tour operators and travel agents see when browsing a supplier’s published specials

 Personal Itinerary 

A client-specific itinerary containing travel dates and traveller details. It is the only itinerary type that supports Live Availability, PNR import, Flight Lookup, and a TravelKey App Code. 

 

 Sample Itinerary 

A template itinerary with no client details or dates, used to showcase example trips — for example on a website or within a Catalogue. 

 

 Day Component 

A pre-built set of activities, notes, and inclusions for a single day, inserted into an itinerary via the Planner step. Has no client-facing link of its own. 

 

 Multi-Day Component 

A pre-built, reusable block of accommodation, routing, and activities spanning several nights, inserted into an itinerary via the Accommodation step. 

 

 Day Tour 

A publishable, single-day tour product built in the Day Tour Builder, which other operators and agents can add to their own itineraries once published. 

 

 Multi-Day Tour 

A publishable, multi-night tour product (built the same way as a Day Tour) covering accommodation, routing, and daily activities. 

 

 Copy / Copy as New 

“Copy” makes an exact duplicate of an itinerary, including its name. “Copy as New” duplicates it but strips client details and the itinerary name. 

 

Copy as Personal / Copy as Sample

Converts a Sample Itinerary into a Personal Itinerary (adding client details and dates), or converts a Personal Itinerary into a Sample Itinerary (removing them). 

 

 Copy as Component 

Converts a Personal or Sample Itinerary into a reusable Multi-Day Component. 

 

 Transfer 

Easily move itineraries between users within the same account to change ownership. 

 

 Post 

Sharing itineraries with your Agent partners that have their own Wetu account so that they receive a copy of the itinerary that they can edit and apply their own branding.

Building an Itinerary: Steps, Tools & Features 

The steps and functions used inside the Itinerary Builder itself. 

Itinerary Builder 

The core Wetu tool used to construct digital itineraries step by step: Itinerary Details, Accommodation, Route Builder, Planner, and Additional Details.

 

Route Builder 

The itinerary step for setting the transport mode (flight, transfer, self-drive, etc.) and legs of travel between destinations. 

 

Planner 

The itinerary step for adding day-by-day activities, Day Notes, Expert Tips, and Included/Excluded information. 

 

Day Notes / Expert Tips 

Narrative text and traveller-facing tips attached to a specific day within the Planner. 

 

Additional Details 

The itinerary step containing output options, tags, attached documents, and the TravelKey App Code. 

 

Inclusion Types 

Planned, Recommended, Optional, and Information, labels describing whether an activity is included in the quoted price, merely suggested, available at extra cost, or purely contextual. 

 

Itinerary Browser 

The searchable list of a company's itineraries, tours, and components, with filters for accommodation, destination/country, number of nights, and tags & labels. 

 

Itinerary Tags 

Custom labels assigned to itineraries, Day Tours, or Multi-Day Tours so they can be filtered and located in the Itinerary Browser. They are not visible to travellers.

 

PNR Importer 

A function that imports Passenger Name Record (PNR) flight data from a GDS system (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport) directly into a Personal Itinerary's Route Builder. 

 

Flight Lookup 

A function that automatically pulls full scheduled-flight details (via FlightStats) into the Route Builder once an airline and flight number are entered. 

 

Live Availability 

Accommodation availability based on the dates used in the itinerary, shown as green tick / red cross / yellow question-mark icons on a Personal Itinerary's Accommodation tab, powered by a connected NightsBridge or ResRequest account. 

 

Booking Affiliate 

The live-availability provider (currently NightsBridge or ResRequest) linked to a supplier profile to enable Live Availability icons for that property.

Outputs, Sharing & TravelKey 

The different ways a finished itinerary can be presented, shared, and accessed by clients. 

 Discovery Itinerary 

 A modern, scroll-based, image-rich itinerary output that presents the trip as a visual story, section by section. 

 

 Classic Itinerary 

 The original tab-based itinerary output, structured for quick reference by section (Overview, Accommodation, Daily Information, etc.). 

 

 Discovery Lite 

 A streamlined version of the Discovery output, available to Lite-package accounts. 

 

 Printable Itinerary 

 A downloadable, Microsoft Word-format version of the itinerary, suitable for PDF conversion, printing, or offline travel packs. 

 

 TravelKey 

 Wetu's mobile app (iOS/Android) that gives travellers offline access to their itinerary, documents, and service-provider contacts via an App Code. Supports up to five saved trips via “My Trips.” 

 

 App Code / App Link 

 The 6-digit code (and equivalent direct link) automatically generated for a Personal Itinerary with dates, used by a traveller to log in to TravelKey. 

 

 Agent Access 

 A shareable link allowing a travel agent without their own Wetu account to view or build on an itinerary. 

 

 Email Client Link 

 A branded email sent to a client directly from the Itinerary Builder, containing a link to their itinerary.

Branding & Identities

How company and agent branding is applied across itineraries and other outputs.

Identity (white labeling) 

 A saved company or agent profile, name, logo, contact details, and terms & conditions, used to co-brand or fully rebrand itineraries, catalogues, and other outputs. 

 

Rebranding 

 Applying an Identity to an itinerary, catalogue, or Rack so its displayed contact details and branding reflect that Identity instead of the account owner's own.

Integrations, Mapping & APIs

Terms used when connecting Wetu to external Tour Operator Software (TOS) and booking systems. 

Connect API 

Wetu's REST framework for integrating an external Tour Operator Software (TOS) system with Wetu, covering Bookings, Mappings, and Locations endpoints. 

 

Mapping 

The process of linking a service or supplier from an external booking/TOS system to its correct equivalent in Wetu. Mapping types include Accommodation, Activity, Travel, Car Hire, Own Arrangement, General Accommodation/Activity, Multi-Day/Day Component, Ignore, and Unmapped. 

 

Connect Update Function 

A feature that allows you to update an existing itinerary sent through the Connector.

 

Itinerary API (V7 / V8) 

Wetu's developer-facing SOAP/JSON API for programmatically loading, saving, and managing itineraries. 

 

Content API 

Wetu's SOAP/REST API for accessing Wetu's content database programmatically. Excludes destination content. 

 

Connector 

An integration-specific tool (e.g. the Tourplan NX Connector or Dolphin Connector) that sends bookings from a named third-party system into Wetu and maps their service lines. 

 

Manage Mapping 

The Connect screen used to review mappings and bulk-upload service/supplier mappings via a CSV file.

Contacts & Account Settings

General account-level tools and settings. 

 Contact Manager 

The central, secure store for traveller and client contact details, which can sync directly from itineraries. 

 

 Machine Translation 

Automatic, non-human translation of itinerary or catalogue content into another language, as distinct from manually entered translations. 

 

 Custom DNS 

A configuration that allows Wetu-generated itinerary and catalogue links to be served from a company's own domain rather than a standard Wetu URL.
